California Lightning Sprints (CLS) are a Southern California based 1200cc
Mini-Sprint club. The group competes in both winged
and non-winged events at the Perris, Bakersfield, Ventura,
Santa Maria, Barona, and Victorville clay ovals. Reaching speeds in excess of 100
mph, the cars of the CLS may be small
in size, but they are
big on excitement!!!

MICHNOWICZ WINS KING OF CALIFORNIA MINI SPRINT
CHAMPIONSHIP! (Placentia,
CA, May 15, 2013) Veteran
racer Bobby Michnowicz captured the California
Lightning Sprint Car Series main event at Scott
Schweitzer’s Bakersfield Speedway last Saturday night.
In doing so, the Lomita veteran sewed up the
three-race “King of California Mini Sprint Challenge”
championship. The win was Michnowicz second in the
three race series and it allowed him to beat Northern
Californian Craig Dillard by 48-points to claim the

Kramer changed his clutch between his heat race and
the main event and then went on to lead all 20-laps in
